THE IMPORTANCE OF LAYERING FOR COLD WEATHER FISHING
- Layers work as a system to keep you dry which keeps you comfortable.
- Moisture is the enemy. Each layer has a vital, specific function, ultimately transporting moisture from core to surface layer.
- Baselayers (1st layer-next to skin) are designed to keep sweat and moisture away from the body so that it will evaporate and keep you dry and comfortable.
- Thermal layers (2nd layer) insulate and enhance warmth.
- Outerwear (3rd layer) repels wind and water.
- Activity level, weather and termperature influences the system- layers may be added or removed as needed.

No measuring tape? Use a piece of string and hold it alongside a ruler.
1. Chest
Measure around the widest part of your chest just below your armpits. The tape measure should be snug around your chest and shoulder blades.
2. Waist
Measure around your body at the point where your waistband typically rests.
3. Inseam
Measure from just below your crotch to the floor while wearing shoes you plan to pair with the pants. Alternatively, take a pair of pants that fit well and measure from the crotch to the bottom of the hem.
4. Sleeve Length
Measure from the center of the back of your neck to your elbow and continue down to your wrist.
Performance
Slightly more relaxed than the base layer, still snug.

More relaxed than performance fits, but keeps shape.

This is a fantastic sweatshirt for a chilly day on the water. The built in mask can be used in place of the hood or with the hood. Excellent design. I'm 5'11" 175lbs and the large is perfect as an outer layer.

I found the medium to be a true to size fit which makes it both comfortable and allows free movement without too much bulk. It is very warm keeping your neck and face protected for the boat rides but when fishing with the face mask creates some bulky feel around your neck.

Based on my size, 5'10" & 160#, I ordered a medium. Ordering was easy and I received the item in 4 days. The medium was a bit tight especially if I was going to wear a shirt under it.
